I just got back from a trip to my LYS (local yarn store). I purchased a new knitting pattern book from Ella Rae called "Homewares". I bought the book because I've been interested in making a few pillows for around the house in some luscious yarns I have. I opened the book and ther

e's a great pattern for some felted slippers called "Felted Persian Slippers." They call simply for a 100g ball of 100% wool that can felt. I picked a beautiful local yarn from Michigan called Shepherd's Wool in lilac. The lilac is a soft purple with a little bit of heathering. It's simply gorgeous! I've never knitted with this yarn but it's heaven - soft and has a slight drape which is hard to find with a 100% wool yarn. I think I might buy more and make a simple cardigan with it (that says a lot about the yarn since I'm not a fan of making adult sweaters!!)
I'm also a fan of the patchwork throw in the
Homewares book. Right now it is availa

here. I think it's quite beautiful!
I have one slipper done and will hopefully finish the next by the weekend - felted and all. When my husband gets back later this week with my camera I will post some of my finished projects and the progress I've made on others.
