Freebie: "Leaf Dog Sweater"

Here it is! I've been busy all day with a new project but I promised that I would post the new dog sweater pattern and I'm keeping my word (even though it's 1:00 AM!!) Drum roll please...

Leaf Dog Sweater (Click on link to be taken to 4shared for a pdf download).

I hope everyone enjoys this sweater as much as I do. I wrote the pattern up as I knitted it. If you see any errors (hopefully there aren't any). Please let me know so I can update the pattern.

Again, this fits my small 6 lb dog and I made one with slightly thicker yarn and it fit my 10 lb dog.

Sarah, are the instructions for MB in the leaf sweater correct. After P2tog,Pa,P2tog, do we need to pass some stitches over. Don't have the Vogue Stitchionary but have Vogue Knitting book and MB in there is a little different.

Ha! Thanks, you found a typo! Thanks. I'll change that. Yes - you purl 2tog, purl 1, purl 2 tog on the backside. Then when you turn the project so the right side is facing you pass the 2 right most stitches over the stitch closest to your left needle.
Truthfully you can make a bobble any way you are comfortable with. Some methods of knitting a bobble make the bobble big and others make it small.
Thanks again!

I love this sweater although
I don't know how to follow directions for knitting, plus I'm not very familiar with the English terminology, nonetheless, I'll study and practice to be able to make this wonderful peace of art.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Best Regards
Xochitl

Hello! I absolutely love this dog sweater pattern but I'm finding that I just can't get the markers to match up in the Round 5-6 area, no matter how many times I redo it (I've redone it six times and my mom's tried four times!). I wasn't sure if we were just brain farting somehow or if there was a goof in the pattern. I am dying to finish this so if you have a moment to give me your feedback I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm having the same problem as Julia. It seems like I'm always 1 too short or 1 too many but only after the last stitch marker. All the other stitch markers come out in the right place except for the last one. I just love this sweater and would love to finish it soon. My new poor little doxie is shivering. Thank you!

Nicole & Julia,

Hmmmm... I'll have to check it out. As you saw from my blog I'm pregnant and I've just been exhausted! So I'll try to sit down and see what I goofed. Does it look like I just missed a stitch or does it look like I placed the marker wrong? Let me take a look - but if you can suggest what you think is wrong at that row let me know. I hope to get back to you soon. A couple of people have emailed me their finished sweaters - let me see what they did.
Thanks again for the comment! - Sarah

in response to error request from 1/2010 and 3/2010 rows 6 & 7 after 2nd marker need to accommodate an increase in sts with (m1p) Row 6: k1, p2, k2,p1, m1p, k1 Row7: k1, p2, k2, p2, k1 (8sts after marker to flow with pattern) Although acknowledged by Sarah, the bobble error has not been corrected in the pattern. Make note of this when you download. Thank you Sarah for sharing. Congrats on BABY! who is now over a year old!

Hi Sarah,

Congrats on becoming a Mum! Can only assume that you don't have so much time to blog anymore tho!

I'm having trouble downloading the .pdf file of this pattern at 4shared.com, as the file is not a .pdf but an .exe file, that wants me to allow it to run on my PC. Is there another way to download the .pdf version?

Thanks

Sanne

The file should be a .pdf.
You are right - I'm a mama to 3 kids 2 and under! So life is hectic. I don't have th file readily available anymore. I'll try to dig out my old computer sometime to repost it.

To all those who are trying to download this sweet dog coat pattern: when you click on the pattern link under the picture, it goes to the 4 shared page. If you click the download button, it will send an .exe file to your computer. I opted out of that and looked around. At the top of the page under the utorrent box (on my page it is utorrent) there is a box that says view document. Click on that and it shows the pattern in a new window. You can save that to your computer as a .pdf . Hope this helps.
Don't forget to write down the pattern changes in the comments. :) Have a great day!!!
