My dad's birthday is coming up so I decided to knit him a present. We'll see how it turns out... I won't give away the surprise yet since his birthday isn't for one week. But I had a skein of hand dyed Araucania Nature Wool in green that looked good and manly. Using that as the base color I knit in some Knit Picks Palette yarn in Sunlight (using 2 strands) to give some dimension. The project is felting in the washer now. We'll see how it turns out.
I tried hand felting instead of using the washer but I thought I was probably using just as much water (and hurting my back) by the time I would be done felting as a washing machine would use. So I decided to throw in some old wool sweaters in the zip pillow case with my dad's gift so I'll have some new felt to work with. I might as well get my waters worth!
